Overview

TP Systems’ IT staffing division brings experienced IT professionals together with BC based hiring organizations on a full-time and contract basis. One of our well established clients is currently seeking a Senior Team Lead to work out of Vancouver. The Senior Team Lead is accountable for the design, configuration, development, integration and maintenance of the Windows computing infrastructure environments. This is a customer service oriented position that is focused on delivering outstanding support to customers and users.

The Senior Team Lead also works with the senior management team to develop the IT plans and set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely support, analysis and resolution for software, network and hardware related problems.

• Ensures adherence to relevant performance and availability Service Level Agreements

• Supervise help desk staff and Administrator and conducts annual performance reviews.

• Contribute to:

a. The design, configuration and maintenance of operating systems, databases, and application software;

b. The backup/recovery and disaster prevention/recovery of servers, data, databases and networks;

c. The operations and maintenance of hardware, software, network and communications systems;

• Evaluate current and emerging technologies and introduce technical solutions that address business and technical issues;

• Provide a superior level of support to customers, including pro-active support;

• Prepare, or contribute to the preparation of standards and policies as they relate to hardware and software;

• Create and maintain user accounts and permissions;

• Assist in preparing capacity plans for server growth or change;

• Assist business units in technology planning;

• Contribute to the planning of security systems as well as to the preparation of plans and installations for servers, databases and applications;

• Contribute to the development and assignment of project budgets, the planning and installation of computer platforms, and to systems development project plans.

Skills and Experience

• 8-10 years experience in Information Technology with expertise in software, hardware, networking and computer operations in a medium to large organization (100+ staff)

• In-depth and hands on experience with Windows NT/2003 Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Virtual Server, Print Servers, Portal 2003 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005;

• Working knowledge of Microsoft SMS;

• Extensive experience with Information Technology techniques and methodologies as well as technology in a client / server environment along with expertise in firewalls, VPN, content filtering, encryption, anti-virus, anti-spy ware and anti-spam.

• Strong project management skills;

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;

• Excellent customer service skills.

Education

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or commensurate qualifications and / or experience.

• A Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) designation and/or MCSA would be a definite asset.
