We are looking for a software engineer who can help us extend and enhance an existing Java
application’s codebase. The ideal candidate will have experience working in teams, be comfortable
leading fellow employees, and feel at home working on both development and maintaining backend
infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will work primarily at our Ottawa location in a small team, continuing developing an
established application in all areas, including :
fixing existing bugs when found
adding new functionality
addressing scalability concerns
planning future roadmap
Requirements:
At least five years using as many of these technologies as possible :
Java / J2EE / JSP pages
CentOS Linux (v4.x and 5.x)
PostgreSQL databases
XML
SVN source code repository
Experience building client / server applications
Ability to work well in a small, dynamic, disciplined team development environment
Flexibility to change tracks when necessary
Able to take responsibility for tasks and see them through
Good sense of humour
Education:
University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
