My client is currently in need of highly skilled Motherboard Repair Technicians. The successful candidates will repair laptop motherboards at a COMPONENT level. This is a contract role located in Markham, with the opportunity to go permanent.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repair laptop motherboards, analyzing, evaluating, testing and performing repairs down to component level
- Excellent soldering ability
- Efficiently use diagnostic tools, such as oscilloscope and multi-meters and test equipment to perform repair
- Ability to troubleshoot without the aid of drawings or maps
- Ability to use problem solving techniques
- Perform work in a fast paced environment with minimal technical assistance and supervision
- Be able to estimate the time and cost to repair material
- Read and understand logic diagrams or schematics when available
- Needs to determine when a board cannot be fixed and document the problem for higher level technician
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a MINIMUM of 1-2 years of experience repairing LAPTOP motherboards or system boards at a component level
- Familiarity with laptop brands such as Sony, Toshiba, HP, Compaq, Dell, IBM, and Apple, etc.
- Must be detail oriented, and possess excellent analytical/organizational skills
- Must have an inquisitive nature to help design extensive test programs & procedures
- Technical education and A+ certification preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of Avertec, Medion, and Seanix a plus, but not required
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 lbs
OTHER:
- Must be able to work 8:00-5:00, Monday - Friday with the flexibility to work overtime and the occasional Saturday
