Junior IT Support Specialist (CLV Group Ottawa)

CLV Group is looking for a Junior IT Support Specialist for a term of 3mths.
 

 
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience using/troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware, software and be able to grasp new concepts quickly. You will be responsible for supporting local and remote end-users with problem reporting, identification, and resolution.
 

 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 
§ Troubleshoot support calls relating to system problems
 
§ Setup new PC workstations, printers, phones/blackberry and other peripherals
 
§ Maintain current configurations
 
§ Diagnose/support client applications (i.e. MS Office, IE, Yardi)
 
§ Troubleshooting hardware and operating system software in a network environment
 
§ Repair and/or coordinate repair of hardware devices
 
§ Making and installing CAT5 cabling
 
§ Participate in documentation or revisions of training manuals
 
§ Maintain asset tracking
 
§ Coordinate troubleshooting techniques with IT Manager
 
§ Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed
 

 
Skills:
 
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and operating systems
 
· Knowledge of PC in a networking environment
 
· System software knowledge/experience (TCP/IP, Windows XP, 2000)
 
· Experience troubleshooting/diagnostic LAN operations
 
· Outstanding people skills and customer service skills orientation
 
· Able to handle rapidly changing priorities, high visibility-high stress situations
 
· Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
 

 
Desired CharacteristicsEducation / Experience:
 
§ A.S./B.S. degree or related experience
 
§ 2 or more years experience as a hardware/software technician in a business environment
 
§ A+ certification
 
§ Microsoft industry recognized training and/or certification
