Application Support Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Requirements gathering and assisting in Build out of Development and Staging environments

• Responsible for multiple proprietary client facing web Applications in the following capacity:

• Provide escalated support by investigating and resolving basic business application issues and their related systems

• Develop basic understanding of technical and business process flow for applications and provide recommendations for improvement

• Execute deployment procedures into Staging and Production environments with appropriate validation

• Setup, configure, maintain and monitor assigned business application(s) and related systems

• Provide basic communication, facilitation, and post resolution reporting for high severity incidents

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with 3rd Party partners

• Receive and manage afterhours alerts

• Liaison between Development and Service Desk teams

• Participate in Development efforts, provide input for future requirements, and inform Service Desk or others of Release Notes and any known issues

• Perform project management tasks as assigned

• Provide appropriate quality assurance testing of applications

• Provide assistance in revision control process between Development, Test and Production systems

• Collaborate with team members for process improvements

• Provide after-hours or weekend maintenance as needed

• Problem resolution including root cause analysis

• Not limited to the above roles and responsibilities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Four-year degree in Information Technology or related field

• Four years Technical Support experience

• Four years experience supporting Microsoft Windows

• Three years experience of supporting developed Business Applications

• Two years experience in using reporting tools

• Two years experience in Unix Systems server management

• Two years database experience: SQL

• One year of experience deploying applications onto Java application servers (preference for JBOSS or Tomcat)

• One year project management experience

• Proficient with Visio

• Proficient in deploying application onto IIS

• Proficient understanding and supporting interfaces and integrations

• Proficient understanding of Active Directory/Directory Services

• Proficient understanding of webs services

• Knowledge of website deployment on Apache

• Knowledge of on-line and client-side transactional systems
