Technical Service Engineers: Optical, Ethernet, TCP/IP (Job #3202)
 
Searching for an exceptional Technical Services Engineers (TSEs) to join our client`s team in several locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Technical Service Engineers will work with our client`s customers on projects in the areas of:
 
- System Commissioning and Test Services
 
- Network Migration Services
 
- Fiber Prequalification Services
 

 
Specific Responsibilities
 
- Commission, integrate and test new systems and networks.
 
- Troubleshoot (collect, analyze, diagnose or escalate) company and other vendor equipment deployed in the field
 
- Execute and troubleshoot network migration activities for company and other vendor equipment (e.g. Nortel, Cisco, Alcatel)
 
- Document, analyze and interpret test data and results
 
- Confirm that project commitments and expectations are satisfied
 
- Interface with customers on-site, resolve or escalate issues and gain the confidence of the customer in the performance of the project
 
- Maintain positive control and accountability of all assigned equipment and resources
 
- Provide project related technical consulting and review documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
 
- Identify project related resources (tools, test equipment, etc) required for satisfactory project execution
 

 
Qualifications/Must Haves:
 
- Five to 8 years experience in operation of SONET, DWDM, WLAN and GigE test equipment
 
- Data expertise (Cisco certifications) a strong plus
 
- Extensive travel (85% or higher) to customer locations in Canada. Some international travel may be required.
 
- Solid foundation of telecommunications theory including SONET and DWDM networking and trouble shooting
 
- Understanding of following protocols: OSI, Ethernet, TCP/IP
 
- Perform non-intrusive trouble shooting and analysis of existing customer networks without causing service impact.
 
- Interpret all engineering specifications, MOP`s and detailed customer specifications
 
- Generate MOPs to facilitate network test and acceptance
 
- Interface professionally with Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Product Support, and TAC in the performance of the project.
 
- Understand the Field Services processes, including interaction with the Program Management organization
 
- Confidently lead a team of employees and contractors, to complete projects on-time and under budget.
 
- Highly motivated with strong desire to learn, grow, and improve.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
 
• Degree/diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.

• At least 4 years of experience with Server Hardware knowledge/troubleshooting and 5 years of equivalent for Desktop Hardware.

Our networking infrastructure consists of D-Link Gigabit technology coupled with a Checkpoint Firewall.

We are looking for a blend of a hands-on IT Manager to maintain the operation of this infrastructure and all aspects of our studios IT/telephony needs, technology planning & strategy, vendor management and budgeting. Reporting to the General Manager of the studio, you will also provide leadership and mentoring to a Systems Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Be the advocate, voice, planner and project manager for all IT and technology requirements.

* Define the proactive support activities necessary to maintain the stability and performance of servers, network, telephony, video conferencing, storage and database systems.

* Be the primary contact for escalations pertaining to 24/7 business critical operations including monitoring/managing all production outages for storage, server, telecom, backups and overall network operation and performance

* Develop and manage several IT projects concurrently for the selection, implementation, testing and integration of solutions using multiple technologies, affecting multiple applications and business processes on time and on budget=

* Manage a systems administrator including training, development, mentoring and performance evaluations

There are two different roles:
 

 
1 Candidate - Active Directory Team Lead (highly skilled, professional, arch level, exp talking to execs, still understands technical issues) - This would be a CONTRACT - TO - HIRE
 

 
1 Candidate - Active Directory Resource - more hands on engineer type. This would be a straight contract (long term - probably start at 3-6 months, but could go longer
 

 
We are looking for a Team Lead Engineer and a1 strong engineer who has excellent communication and technical ability. Client is NOT looking for a system administrator who has AD, but rather an Engineer who has done AD migrations, some architecture, password sync, RSA, ISA, etc.
 

 
The systems engineer position will focus on Active Directory Domain design, configuration, implementation, migrations, supportability and performance planning and tuning. This position will also provide support for Active Directory environments running in a geographically disperse environment.
 

 
This position will also be responsible for Password Synch, RSA Authentication Manager, Microsoft IAS and Microsoft DNS/DHCP. This position will be responsible for design, configuration, implementation, and support of all Global Authentication Services infrastructure. The system engineer position will also provide support to other teams and will also be responsible for providing L3/L4 support for Global Authentication Services issues.
